Didim Marina in Turkey
set for early finish
Didim marina construction supervisor Gökhan Özerk
said 25 per cent of the marina is already finished,
and if the local council allowed work to continue
through next year`s summer months, it could be
completed before the end of 2008.
Mr Özerk said: “There will be two breakwaters at
the marina; one main and one secondary. Already, 600
metres of the 1,150 metre long main breakwater is
built and 450 metres of the 625 metre long secondary
breakwater is also done. Overall, 25% of the marina
is complete.
“Once the marina is open, it will be a way port
for yachts routing from Çeşme and Kuşadası to Bodrum,
Datça, Marmaris and Fethiye. It will be the most
modern in the region.”
